Cory McIntosh started in public practice in January 1993, working as a student for Degruchy Norton & Co. Later, he worked for a firm in Victoria, BC and received his Certified General Accountant designation in 1996. He returned to Degruchy, Norton & Co. in October 1999, becoming a partner in 2001. Cory has a Certified Aboriginal Financial Management (CAFM) designation and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation in addition to his CPA, CGA designations. In 2004, Cory was proud to be one of the founding partners of McIntosh Norton Williams when Degruchy Norton & Co. merged with Walters Williams and Co. of Qualicum Beach.
In addition to working in public practice, Cory has been an instructor for several different accounting, auditing and income tax courses at Vancouver Island University (VIU), sharing his knowledge and experience with students earning their Bachelor of Business Administration. He has also been active in the community, serving as a director for several not-for-profit organizations over the last 20 years.
Cory has over 25 years of experience working with First Nations and First Nation owned businesses, providing audit services as well as advice on income tax and other matters. He also has extensive experience working with personal and corporate taxation issues, financial and estate planning, and accounting and auditing for not-for-profit organizations.
With his knowledge and expertise, Cory is dedicated to helping his clients minimize their income taxes and to helping them make sound decisions for their future.
When he is not working, you will most likely find him on the golf course or spending time enjoying the great outdoors with his family.
