Jeff Durrant | Partner
BBA, CPA,
Jeff Durrant was first introduced to working with numbers by his accountant grandmother at a very young age. His first job out of high school was in the restaurant industry where he rose rapidly to a management position. After 11 years in the business, Jeff began his higher education studies. In 2012, in his second year at university, Jeff started working for KNV Chartered Accountants LLP as a co-op student. In 2015, Jeff graduated with distinction from Okanagan College while still working for KNV. That same year, KNV merged with MNP LLP, one of the largest full-service chartered professional accounting firms in Canada.
Jeff continued to work for MNP, where he was being groomed for a partnership, until May 2020 when he accepted a position with McIntosh Norton Williams. He prefers the variety of accounting services a smaller firm provides as opposed to large firms which are more specialty oriented. Jeff became a partner of MNW upon the retirement of Mike Williams in January 2022.
Tax and estate planning are areas that Jeff finds challenging and rewarding. Audits also fall into his realm of expertise. However, Jeff’s primary goal, whether he is working on an individual tax return or preparing to present financial statements to a board of directors, is to consider how he can add value for his clients. This above and beyond approach to Jeff’s work sets him apart in the accounting business.
When Jeff is away from the office, he enjoys spending time with his family and providing adventures and experiences for his young son and step-son. He has also rekindled his passion for chess!
