Michael Williams has retired as of January 2022 but remains with the firm to assist with a smooth partner transition. He has over thirty years of experience in public practice. Michael received his Certified General Accountant designation in 1995 and started working for Walters & Co. in 1998. In 1999 he became partner in Walters Williams & Co. and helped lead the McIntosh Norton Williams merger in September 2004.
In addition to personal tax preparation, Mike focuses on small to medium-sized businesses which includes corporate tax preparation and planning, and business consulting. He believes that “You cannot be everything to everybody. This is true for our clients. They have discovered something they are good at and have made it into a business. However, they cannot be expected to understand every aspect of their business, particularly, the financial side of it. That is where we come in.”
The same is true for our firm. We cannot be everything to everybody which is why we have built up a network of expertise. People we can rely on us to help our clients to succeed. Our purpose is to serve our clients and give them peace of mind about all aspects of their business and personal finances, so that they can concentrate on doing what they do best.
Mike has been involved in his local community, serving as treasurer for several not-for-profit organizations and as a past member of the Qualicum Beach Sunrise Rotary Club.
